Position: Certified Medical Assistant

Department: Creekside

Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Salary Range: $24.92 - $32.54/HR. We use a bona fide factor system to determine starting wage (years of experience, education, credentials, and specialty skills that relate to the job requirements).

Position Requirements: High School Diploma/equivalent. Completion of accredited Medical Assistant Program, or comparable medical office experience and training. Prefer one-year experience working with serious substance abused population. Combination of education/experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties outlined for this position may be considered.

Summary: Responsible for services relating to care of clients in outpatient setting.

  • Prepare/administer/document medications within outpatient setting
  • Meds verified 3x prior to administration, label, document required by federal/state legislation, and matches order
  • Observe client taking meds; never leave unattended or meds left with client
  • Document meds administered Medication Administration Record (MAR)/when med is not taken/refused, noting reason
  • Document cause of prn meds, regularly scheduled meds; report unusual symptoms to supervisor. Complete incident report for adverse meds reactions/errors
  • Record vital signs before, during/after administration of meds
  • Knowledge of terms, abbreviations/symbols related to meds/administration
  • Store meds/maintain security with current federal/state regulations,
  • Adhere to state/federal, facility rules pertaining to maintenance/disposal of meds
  • Observe client/residents’ rights related to medication administration
  • Room clients, take vitals, and track BMI
  • Attend all assigned meetings
  • Other duties as may be assigned
