  • The Director of Surgery Services ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care, utilizing the expertise of a seasoned Registered Nurse.
  • This role involves maintaining continuity of patient care, serving as a resource for the surgical team, facilitating problem-solving, assisting with quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. Additionally, this position supports staff education and takes on various other duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the surgical services department, ensuring quality patient care.
  • Act as a resource and support for subordinate staff, aiding in problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Lead quality improvement activities and provide education and training for staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the surgical services department.

Qualifications & Experience:

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association, required upon hire.
  • Active Arizona Registered Nurse license or Compact State Registered Nurse license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Director of Surgical Services in a critical care hospital.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association, required upon hire.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) certification.
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in surgical services leadership or upper management in a critical care hospital.
  • Moderate Sedation Certification.
