Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and proactive Microsoft Support Engineer to join the Chainbridge Solutions team. This role is based in our Fairfax corporate office supporting internal corporate IT to include Microsoft 365 administration, policy management, and daily Service Desk support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft technologies, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage and resolve complex technical issues. You will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure and providing exceptional support to our corporate office based in Fairfax as well as to our 100+ employees working remotely across the US.  
Location: Hybrid with 3 days working in our office in Fair Lakes, VA. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first and second-level support for end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network-related issues. 
  • Set up new user accounts, communicate with users, assist with basic requests, and build automation to streamline processes, as necessary.  
  • Respond to and resolve support tickets and requests via phone, email, messaging platform, and in-person interactions. 
  • Document issues, solutions, and best practices in the help desk ticketing system. 
  • Manage laptop and hardware inventory to include the provisioning of new devices to employees. 
  • Assess and run diagnostics on laptops and other devices to determine if repair or replacement device is needed.  
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft  Entra ID/Active Directory, and Group Policies, focusing on those policies that help enforce a secure environment. 
  • Administer and support all aspects of Microsoft Office 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive. 
  • Conduct regular system and log monitoring to identify and resolve potential issues. 
  • Collaborate with other Chainbridge Solutions team members on infrastructure projects and improvements. 
  • Respond to security incidents  
  • Ensure compliance with the National Institutes and Standards of Technology (NIST) guidelines by helping to develop, implement, and maintain best practices.  
  • Research and implement Microsoft Security procedures and protocols to support Chainbridge Solutions Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).  
  • Create and maintain documentation for IT processes, procedures, and system configurations. 

Experience and Skill Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT support, with a focus on Microsoft technologies. 
  • Strong knowledge of Azure, Microsoft Entra ID/AD, Office 365, and related technologies. 
  • Proficiency in cloud service administration and troubleshooting. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on many tasks and initiatives. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users. 
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or similar are a plus. 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Experience building and implementing procedures to adhere to NIST and CMMC best practices.  
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automation tasks. 
  • Familiarity with ITIL best practices and frameworks. 
 Physical and Mental Requirements:  
  • Frequently remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time looking at a computer screen.  
  • Must be able to pick up, move, and carry devices such as laptops and computer monitors weighing up to 25 lbs. 
  • Must be able to bend down to access cords below desks, reach behind or above to access network cables and manipulate devices such as printer and copy machines.  
  • Continuous verbal and written communication with others to exchange information. 
  • Continuous repetitive movements that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. 
  • Comprehension - Must continuously be able to understand direction and adhere to established procedures 
  • Organization - Must continuously be able to gather and classify information.  
  • Reasoning and Decision Making - Must continuously use logic to analyze and interpret information and prioritize.
