Job Title: Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and overseeing health and safety protocols for the company and ensuring that staff members are properly informed regarding emergency preparedness, use of protective equipment, and accident protocol.

To ensure success as a Safety Manager, you should display exceptional knowledge of company safety policies and relevant occupational safety and health administration (OSHA) standards. Ultimately, an outstanding Safety Manager should be able to identify opportunities to minimize workplace health hazards quickly and efficiently.


Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing workplace safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Develop excellent working relationships with hourly production workers as well as managers, supervisors and senior leaders.
  • Providing personnel with safety-related information such as training sessions, emergency protocols, and proper use of safety equipment and PPE.
  • Reviewing existing policies and procedures to ensure they are up to date and compliant.
  • Overseeing the company’s daily operations and identifying opportunities for improvement of safety protocols.
  • Performing safety audits and physically inspecting all work areas and jobsites to identify possible safety issues.
  • Conducting risk assessments and root cause analysis to minimize workplace accidents, occupational illnesses or long- term health hazards.
  • Preparing weekly, monthly, and annual safety reports and presenting the information to management.
  • Collaborating with Indiana location to make sure both manufacturing facilities are compliant and following the same practices.
  • Collaborating with management to plan and implement a safety protocol budget.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs to all employees.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine the root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate safety records and reports.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop emergency response plans.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be bilingual in Spanish
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
  • Must be able walk the production floor daily at multiple buildings and varying shifts and be on call for emergencies.
  • Excellent MS office skills.
  • Must be comfortable presenting to large groups of employees and to Sr. Managers.
