The CMM Technician at Mate Precision Technologies is responsible for producing accurate and timely product measurement reports. The CMM Technician will work on current products and participate in new product development using Calypso software to ensure parts meet quality specifications.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Create CMM programs that meet print and or process requirements.
  • Verify that CMM programs are accurate and repeatable.
  • Maintain schedule for CMM programs and inspections to correspond with production requirements.
  • Program off-line with CAD models.
  • On-line programming with and without CAD models.
  • Maintain and update existing CMM programs.
  • Utilize CMM programs to inspect parts.
  • Analyze CMM Reports, summarize non-conformances, and provide direction on potential corrections.
  • Troubleshoot inspection and or process problems on the production floor.
  • Coordinate service, support, and new equipment from CMM vendors.
  • Manual verification of CMM programs, perform product first article inspection, and dimensional capability studies.
  • Assist and support the calibration of measuring equipment throughout the company.
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Collaborates with others, is open-minded, responsive, and supports others' success efforts.
  • Demonstrates integrity by being dependable, having good judgment, being honest, and taking responsibility for their actions.
  • Respectful of others, encouraging others to share their ideas, actively listening to others, and having common courtesy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Five years of experience in inspection/quality is required.
  • One to three years of CMM programming experience is required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with Calypso software is preferred.
  • The ability to read blueprints is required.
  • Understanding of GD&T, current ASME Y14.5 standard.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Solid math skills (geometry, trigonometry and algebra).
  • Experience with point clouds.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Regular use of hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Reach with hands and arms.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • This position is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • The noise level is usually moderate.


Pay, Work Schedule, & Benefits:

  • Pay Range: $38.55 - $39.52/hour, depending on experience.
  • Work hours/schedule: Monday-Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
