Currently, our office is seeking a Full-Time Hygiene Assistant for our practice in Alamogordo, NM The ideal candidate would maintain a positive/upbeat personality, have the ability to multitask well and be comfortable with computers and technology
Duties/Responsibilities
- Prepares treatment room for the patient.
- Prepares patient for hygiene treatment by welcoming, comforting, and seating patients.
- Works the hygiene recall list to schedule patients for the follow-up exam.
- Provides instrumentation to the hygienist by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for hygienist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
- Documents dental care services by charting in patient records as directed by dentist or hygienist.
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping the information confidential.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Prior Hygiene Assisting experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to be a team-player and communicate effectively.
- Must obtain X-Ray Certification within 90 days of hire (Not Required to Start)
- High school diploma or equivalent
