POSITION SUMMARY

Based out of our Walker, MI facility, the Solid Surface Fabrication team fabricates solid surface countertops. This position uses similar skills that woodworking uses and would be easy to train someone with wood working skills. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Job layout and optimization of materials
  • Properly measuring and cutting materials (includes use of panel saw, table saw, routers, sanders, and V groover)
  • Building countertops to customer specifications
  • Preparing and labeling countertops for shipment

This position offers a $250 annual clothing allowance for uniform, protective footwear, and PPE.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma/GED required
  • Hilo operator’s license (will train if needed)
  • Prior fabrication or construction experience desired

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and fabricate from stick templates
  • Ability to read a tape measure and understand dimensions
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with fellow employee owners
  • Self-starter
  • Dependable and reliable
  • Desire to “do things right the first time”
  • Openness and desire to learn new skills
  • Ability to always work safely and efficiently
  • Ability to work neatly and maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Strong positive work ethic

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to do physical labor including lifting of up to 100 lbs
  • Ability to stand for 8-10 hours/day
