HIRING A SUSTAINABILITY INTERN IN HOUSTON

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting with creating simple box energy models for HVAC system comparisons
  • Preform water use calculations to determine impact of water reduction for LEED documentation
  • Calculating Energy Use intensity for new and renovation projects
  • Preforming Indoor air quality calculations for LEED documentation
  • Perform early solar feasibility studies to estimate renewable energy production
  • Calculating carbon footprints for new construction projects
  • Researching new and emerging sustainability software applications
  • Record energy use and water for completed projects
  • Research and analyze ASHRAE and IECC codes for compliance
  • Provide LEED documentation support to project teams on green building projects
  • Maintain and update the Sustainability database of Energy conservation measures (ECMs)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s in Architectural Engineering, MEP Engineering Sustainability, or related field
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain a positive attitude
  • Show a willingness to learn and ask questions
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship

SKILLS:

  • Familiar with Energy Simulation programs such as eQuest, Trane 3D Plus, OpenStudio and EnergyPlus
  • Familiar with AutoCAD/Revit
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications
  • Ability to communicate and work with others as part of a project team
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
