Overview

The Flexjet IT Team supports the technology needs of multiple established companies within the Directional Aviation portfolio. The PowerApps Developer is responsible for providing guidance and engineering solutions to fulfill business requirements using industry best practices and in accordance with architectural standards and engineering methodology.

The Flexjet Infrastructure team is an engaging, fast-paced group of engineers with one goal. To innovate and maintain an elite service portfolio of private aviation organizations that deliver world-class services. The PowerApps Developer is an integral part of this operation. Business-Critical operations are hosted on Flexjet’s own geographically diverse private cloud. Infrastructure maintains two Tier 2 Data Centers.

The Microsoft Power Platform Developer will be responsible for developing custom business solutions using SharePoint, the Power Platform, and other Microsoft 365 collaboration tools. The ideal candidate for the role will possess deep knowledge and proficiency in the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), prior experience with SharePoint Online design best-practices, and a broad skillset across other Microsoft 365 technologies. In addition to new solutions, this position's main function includes the assessment, troubleshooting, upgrading, maintenance, and improvement of existing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating directly with the Product Owner to clarify and further define the backlog and prioritization of work.
  • Estimating, planning, and managing all his/her own work and reporting on progress.
  • Effectively documenting all his/her own work for knowledge sharing within the team as well as the wider IT organization.
  • Own code quality, unit testing and packaging of all work.
  • Lead & Support migration of infrastructure applications, servers and services while maintaining industry best practices for security, disaster recovery and business continuity.
  • Architect, Design and Deliver solutions using existing Infrastructure components. Implement new infrastructure technologies as introduced and establish best practices for their adoption. Resolve unforeseen incidents and initiate change to ensure future issues can be managed more efficiently.
  • Assists engineers and other operations team members in implementing and troubleshooting Microsoft Azure infrastructure solutions.
  • Works closely with software architects to identify, research, and experiment with other cloud tools, technologies, and frameworks that will help our teams to move faster in our environments.
  • Establish standards for tools related to building, deploying, and monitoring software systems and documenting best practices.
  • Identify improvements and options to reduce our operating costs in all environments.
  • Provide regular updates on your areas of responsibility to team members and IT leadership.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation.
  • Interact with vendors and partners of your systems as needed.
  • As a 24x7x365 Operation, Team members are regularly called upon to engage, on an as-needed basis, duties not listed here.

Qualifications

  • Intellectually curious, self-starter with a passion for technology
  • 2 years of hands-on experience in developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform and Power Automate, SharePoint online and related M365 workloads.
  • 2 years of experience with integrating and connecting Power Apps with various data sources such as Dataverse, SharePoint and SQL.
  • Experience with writing technical requirements, test scripts and knowledge of software programming languages and technologies.
  • Experience in working with software developers to troubleshoot deployment challenges
  • Experience within a global enterprise
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Additional Experience

  • Development background with Microsoft development technologies such as SQL Server, SSRS, C#, .NET, JavaScript, or HTML5.
  • Using Azure Dev Ops (ADO) for Agile workflow processes
  • Visual Studio, GitHub, Azure DevOps, or other source control management tools
  • Mainstream migration tools - ShareGate, AvePoint, etc.
  • Software as a Service (SaaS) environment

Desired Skills

  • Microsoft Orchestrator

  • Experience with software development processes and methodologies preferred
