We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Transportation Construction Inspector to ensure the quality and compliance of transportation construction projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for inspecting various aspects of transportation construction projects, including highways, bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure. Your attention to detail and thorough understanding of construction standards and regulations will be essential in ensuring the safety, durability, and quality of transportation infrastructure.
Your Primary Responsibilities will include
  • Perform on-site inspections of transportation construction projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, including photographs, reports, and documentation of any non-compliance issues or corrective actions taken.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to safety regulations and protocols, identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective measures.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to address construction issues, resolve conflicts, and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, including inspection findings, compliance status, and any deviations from the construction plans.
  • Effectively communicate inspection findings, recommendations, and compliance requirements to project stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.

What you'll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques relevant to transportation projects.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, including AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret construction plans, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse project teams.
  • Certification as a Construction Inspector (e.g., NICET, ACI, ICC) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and construction management software.
