Accounts Payable Clerk III

Job Summary: The Accounts Receivable/Payable Clerk will ensure a smooth day-to-day flow of AP/AR billing, incoming/outgoing invoices and related processes, as well as general office/clerical duties as assigned. In this role, you will also follow up with both internal and external customers relating to billing and invoicing needs.

Essential Functions:

  1. Applies customer payments, researches and solves payment discrepancies, and processes credit card payments and credits.
  2. Continuously review aged receivables report to monitor customer balances and collect on past due balances.
  3. Receive and review vendor invoices.
  4. Match invoices to receiving documents.
  5. Get proper approval for invoices and employee reimbursements.
  6. Correctly code and enter invoices into accounting system.
  7. Reconcile company credit card statements.
  8. File and store accounting records.
  9. Process expense reports in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with departmental procedures.
  10. Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  11. Examine accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports, to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance with department standards, including reconciliation, property, plant & equipment, audits, and sales & tax.
  12. Other relevant duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. College accounting classes preferred.

Competencies:

To perform the job successfully, an individual must demonstrate the following competencies.

  1. Intermediate knowledge with the core Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power-point).
  2. Speak and write in fluent English.
  3. Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
