Position Overview:

Develop and implement manufacturing processes and internal procedures in alignment with product specifications and quality standards. Propose and implement enhancements to production processes, equipment, and material utilization, prioritizing the guidelines set forth in the Tecumseh Production System. Ensure all products have the correct routings and associated costing within the bill of materials. Utilize project management techniques to align value stream mapping with strategic organizational goals to reduce bottlenecks and improve lead times. Contribute to continuous improvement, cost take-out, safety, and other operational initiatives as required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collect time study data and provide graphical and detail reports
  • Balance production lines by level loading work elements for high utilization of operators
  • Conduct PFMEA and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • KPI assessment and corrective measure implementation
  • Assist manufacturing and engineering with product/process technical problem solving as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with design teams and other disciplines on new product costing.
  • Lead improvement projects which improve safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Utilize Oracle to update and maintain product routings, ensuring accuracy in cost and inventory.
  • Manage labor planning by utilizing the tools within the Tecumseh Production System to ensure adequate staffing levels each month.

Qualification and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Proven problem-solving skills utilizing DMAIC and/or 6 Sigma methods.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing ERP system.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and desire to drive improvements.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read component and/or product drawings.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adjust priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

Additional Information

Travel: 0 – 10%

Physical Demands: Lifting a minimum of 25lbs, occasionally. The work location will be split between the manufacturing floor and office. Long periods at either location will be required at different times.
