CMHC Program Assistant

The CMHC Program Assistant reports directly to the Associate Program Director. The position is a full-time position, consisting of administrative work and assistance in executing residency events. This position requires a unique combination of strong leadership and organizational skills. Preference is given to applications local to the DMU Campus in Sterling, VA, but consideration for other geographical areas (remote work) is given with a strong application (i.e., willing to travel, experience and education). The Program Assistant must create and maintain collaborative working relationships with the institutional leadership, staff, and students and policies consistent with regulations from federal, state, administrative, and academic entities.
1. Program Assistant
- Support of the administrative tasks of the CMHC Program
- Maintenance and organization of student files
- Assists with state licensure research and compliance
- Assists with the onboarding and retention of students
- Data integrity
2. Other Duties as required or assigned
- Management and coordination of up to six residency events per year located in Sterling, VA (travel required)
- Management of event contracts
- Coordination of faculty travel for residencies
- Scheduling meetings associated with residency events
- Coordination of logistics for the events, including student and faculty materials, schedules, catering and IT support
- Management of additional residency support
- Partner with Associate Program Director on administrative tasks related to residency
- Proven administrative skills including computer competency and ability to learn software applications, including
- Use of tools such as Microsoft Office and/or G Suite (Google)
- Use of Zoom for meetings
- Document, file and folder management
2. Communication Skills - written and oral
3. Experience with managing and developing budgets
4. Experience managing people, projects, and events
5. High organizational skills to manage large volume of logistics and event planning
6. Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills
7. Ability to independently plan, organize and carry out work assignments
8. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably with a graduate degree.
