Assistant Manager, Consumer Lending

Role: To direct and coordinate the activities of the Consumer Lending Department personnel. This position will support the Consumer Loan Manager and ensure sub-departments meet organizational financial, operational, service, and growth plans. This role will have direct supervision of the Inside Loan Originator Staff/Department.Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Leads staff through training, coaching, evaluating. May make recommendation for appropriate personnel actions including hiring, promotion, corrective action, or discipline. Trains new branch personnel and updates staff on any policy or procedural changes.

Monitors Consumer Loan Department operations to ensure that security procedures are being followed and that appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions.

Maintain LOS (currently Meridian Link/TCI) by monitoring production data base for issues and submitting tickets as required, troubleshooting issues, and testing DEMO for fixes. Maintain a good working relationship with the LOS Vendor.

Assist with performance management, goal setting and scheduling. Conducts timely performance appraisals.

Supervises and mentors the Inside Loan Originator (ILO) staff in reviewing loans for possible cross sell opportunities, monitors loan totals, goals, and incentives.

Manages Consumer Lending Department in absence of manager.

Performs others duties as assigned by supervisor.Performance Measurements:1.To provide informed, professional, and accurate service and support to all members and staff.2.To maintain a cohesive, highly trained, and motivated staff, sufficient to meet needs of members in coordination with Consumer Lending operating budget.3.To ensure that the staff is providing friendly, professional, and personal service to all members. To promote a sales and service culture within the branch by example. Mentor and develop employees to identify member cross sales opportunities.4.To troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly, and accurate manner.5.To meet or exceed the membership, lending, product, and loan goals monthly.6.To complete performance reviews within the prescribed time frame.7.To keep management informed regarding key operating issues affecting the branch.Knowledge and Skills:ExperienceThree years to five years of similar or related experience.EducationA high school education or GED.Interpersonal SkillsWork involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.Other SkillsAdvanced knowledge of the lending industry and experience with consumer lending; must have proven track record of loan origination, servicing and managing product offerings
Must have complete knowledge of regulations, policies and procedures affecting consumer lending, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act
Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, balance sheets and income statements
Must have excellent verbal/written communication and supervisory skills
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word and Powerpoint)
Knowledge of lending software and core financial operating systems
