About the Position:
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is a licensed practitioner who is responsible for managing and coordinating healthcare of clients in an ambulatory outpatient setting in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations and the nursing standards of care (assessment of health status, diagnosis, development of plan of care and treatment, implementation of treatment plan, and evaluation of patient status). Treatment modalities will include administration of deep transcranial magnetic stimulation (dTMS) and ketamine. Medical and clinical management is conducted in collaboration with other health care team members.

Position Duties and Responsibilities – Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Focus on superior patient care treating Major Depressive Disorder, PTSD, OCD, Bipolar Disorder with a strong therapeutic approach including individual and family therapy
  • Emphasize preventative care and disease management
  • Complete psychiatric evaluations and assessments with development of treatment plan including other members of the treatment team
  • Identify appropriate candidates for dTMS and ketamine treatment and provide administration of dTMS and ketamine treatments
  • Serve as a consultant to staff in reference to physical health questions or concerns that arise within the agency
  • Ability to perform H&Ps
  • Respond to all duties in a clinically appropriate and timely manner

Requirements:

Educational Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure
  • Current Nurse Practitioner certification
  • Preference given for dual accreditation in Neurology and/or previous experience with ganglion nerve block (not required)
  • Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP) Preferred but not required

Experience: This position requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner role preferred with substance abuse experience, and minimum of 1 year of experience with deep transcranial magnetic stimulation (dTMS) and ketamine treatment.
