Key Responsibilities:

  • Materials Testing & Inspections: Conduct comprehensive materials testing and construction inspections to ensure project integrity.
  • Project Design: Develop detailed reports, designs, plans, and specifications for civil improvements across residential, commercial, industrial, and other projects.
  • System Development: Oversee the design, permitting, inspection, and management of water systems, septic systems, and storm management facilities.
  • Construction Material Selection: Select and inspect construction materials to ensure quality and compliance with project specifications.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with agencies and clients to secure necessary planning and building regulation approvals.
  • Professional Collaboration: Work closely with architects, structural engineers, contractors, public agencies, and the public to provide clear communication and support.
  • Project Oversight: Monitor and inspect contractor work, administer bid contracts, and ensure projects are completed to high standards.
  • Problem Solving: Partner with Project and Construction Managers to address and resolve field issues efficiently.
  • Technical Reporting: Prepare thorough technical reports across various civil engineering disciplines.
  • Traffic Studies: Conduct traffic studies to evaluate current and future level of service (LOS) standards for roads and intersections.


Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Certification: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, having passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in engineering computations, design preparation, and experience with AutoCAD.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate and document findings.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong time management, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
  • Work Ethic: Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and accountability.
  • Teamwork: Proven ability to work well within a team environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Drafting Software: Advanced experience with AutoCAD.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Washington State Energy Code compliance.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency with Mitel phone systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Regulations & Standards: Knowledge of state and federal design, bidding, and construction regulations and standards.
  • Professional Judgment: Ability to exercise professional engineering judgment to achieve project goals.
