Duties include:

Under the supervision of the Deputy Director Rehab, the Assistant Director Hospital Rehab will be responsible for overall supervision of the Nursing Department on hospital Acute Rehabilitation Units and. Coordinates 24 hour supervision of the Nursing Department. Assists in establishing lines of authority and is responsible for defining duties of nursing senior personnel and ensures compliance of nursing staff with policies/procedures and standards of care. Evaluates staffing levels to ensure appropriate staffing is maintained. Coordinates the recruitment and selection of nursing staff, represents nursing administration in meetings and serves on interdepartmental committees. Prepares for and participates in DOH and TJC. This position will also be tasked with supervision and tracking of hospital nursing outcomes as manager of the Performance Improvement Program, and other duties as required.



Requirements

Preferred Qualification: Masters in Nursing

Possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State; a bachelor's degree in nursing; and two years of post-licensure professional clinical nursing experience in an acute care hospital or acute physical rehabilitation hospital. One year of the experience must have been at a supervisory level. Experience in data collection and analysis. Knowledge of Patient computer systems and data entry. Ability to communicate and interact with professional staff and peers effectively. Excellent, leadership, critical thinking, organizational and communication skills. Demonstrates ability to work well under pressure.
