As Manager, Mortgage Closing you’ll bring significant closing experience, a commitment to delivering great member service, and make the home buying experience enjoyable for our members. You’ll focus on building a foundation from which the department can grow and scale. Responsible for establishing core principles and practices in closing areas such as disclose accuracy, document preparation and review, guideline adherence, and timeline management.

Responsibilities:

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage the mortgage closing process, ensuring that we close loans in accordance with established SLAs, produce salable loans, and deliver an outstanding member experience.
  • Manage the pipeline of mortgage and home equity loan closings, prioritizing based on scheduled close date
  • Train, mentor, coach and provide guidance to team members to enhance their performance and professional development
  • Ensure all pre-closing conditions are satisfied, closing documents are accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory guidelines and company policies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to streamline closing procedures, improving accuracy, efficiency, and member satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the closing process. Play an active role in pipeline management meetings, reducing friction in the loan lifecycle process to meet mortgage SLAs.
  • Promotes and maintains a positive work atmosphere by communicating in a manner consistent with professional standards to work effectively with members, co-workers, management, partners and vendors.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, best practices, and market trends related to mortgage closings. Performs related duties as assigned. Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree of equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum Five years of mortgage/home equity closing experience.
  • Highly effective at promoting positive relationships and building capable teams.
  • Thorough knowledge of Fannie Mae and all other secondary market guidelines.
  • Knowledge of LE,COC and CD preparation
  • Knowledge of, title reports, notes, mortgages, and related documentation to closing a mortgage.
  • Understanding of NY Co-Op and CEMA
  • Knowledge in the areas of TRID, Appendix Q, RESPA, MDIA, HMDA, TILA, ECOA, FCRA, Fair Lending
  • Familiar with MortgageBot and DocMagic a plus
  • Ability to work extended hours when required.
