Position Summary
The Project Engineer will be responsible for management and full implementation of projects. This includes evaluation of new plans, various procedures in the production process, and maintaining strong communication with vendors, clients and internal teams to insure a robust implementation.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Create a process plan for implementation of new products including creating bill of materials, routings, and manufacturing drawings. Project implementation will follow an APQP process to minimize risk on the product launch.
- Develop lines of communication required to keep apprised of contracted project status and completion dates.
- Calculate all requirements needed for a successful project launch and ensure all requirements are in place.
- Research and supply necessary pre-production detail or processes and hold communication meetings as needed.
- Use CAD to create internal production drawings as necessary and communicate to production to accurately produce products.
- Resolve problems or differences with prints or contract details.
- Execute proper change orders or requests.
- Assist production and quality assurance with problem resolution.
- Work with quality assurance teammates to fulfill customer PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Education: Minimum of Associates Degree in manufacturing related field, Bachelor’s in Engineering or similar field preferred
- Experience and/or Training: Two years’ experience as a project engineer or similar field.
- Technology/Equipment: Previous CAD (preferably Solid Edge) and electronic spreadsheet experience/training & Microsoft Office Suite, measurement tools (calipers, pin gauges, etc.)
- Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
