The Accounting Associate will play a key role in the financial operations of a private equity-backed shared service team, responsible for supporting accounting activities across multiple portfolio companies. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong foundation in public accounting and a desire to transition into a dynamic corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Perform account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of general ledger entries.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Process and monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Ensure timely payments and collections and resolve any discrepancies with vendors and clients.
  • Assist in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
  • Prepare variance analyses and assist in the preparation of management reports.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Support audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Work closely with the shared service team to support accounting activities across multiple portfolio companies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in public accounting, preferably with exposure to multiple industries.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
