We seek an experienced Print Shop Technician to operate our large-format flatbed presses, roll-to-roll inkjet printers, digital cutters, scanners, and associated RIP and control software. You will be responsible for day-to-day print production, equipment maintenance, and general production duties. 

 

Previous experience working in a fast-paced digital printing department is strongly desired, but not required.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Interact with digital large-format presses, roll-to-roll printers, digital cutting and routing equipment, and scanning equipment. 
  • Use of PhotoShop, rip, and control software to produce print-ready files
  • Read, comprehend, and produce orders from detailed production orders to meet requested deadlines.
  • Quality assurance. (checking prints for accurate color, texture, size, and general print quality.)
  • Follow standard procedures and operations for the production of printed products.
  • Perform needed maintenance on all production equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and professional production facility at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

 

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • A good understanding of digital presses, cutters, scanners, and the accompanying rip (Caldera) and control software.
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience in the field of large-format digital printing
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend written materials and instructions.
  • Basic math skills in standard and metric measurements (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers and fractions and converting fractions to decimals and vice versa).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to visually inspect all work for defects and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.
  • Manual dexterity for repetitive work.

Pay: $18.00–$25.00 per hour
