POSITION PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide support to the Pediatric, Rheumatology and SBHC teams. Under the supervision of the Specialties Clinic Manager, the SCS is responsible for supervising the daily activities of the clinic staff including back office medical staff and providers in the following departments: Pediatrics, Rheumatology, and the School Based Health Center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB:
- Structures staff work schedules, handling time off requests, processing timesheets and monitoring absenteeism and tardiness. Work with the Clinic Manager and Director to ensure proper coverage in all departments.
- Trains and/or provides support for staff training as necessary.
- Fields and addresses any patient complaints and acts as liaison between departments to ensure the appropriate resolution of customer service and administrative issues.
- Implements departmental policies and educates staff and patients regarding the implications of the same.
- Routinely interacts with patients and staff to maintain awareness of needs and satisfaction of service provided.
- Conducts regular staff and provider meetings on an as-needed basis.
- Participates in quality improvement processes and implements, evaluates, and maintains QI activities for the clinic.
- Ensures that correct levels of supplies are maintained and organized.
- Performs clinical duties as assigned or needed which may include, but is not limited to, taking and recording vital signs, administering medications, encounter scribing, and direct patient care duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree in business or 4 years of relative work experience in a medical office setting with strong supervisor/manager skills.
- Minimum current licensure in Oregon as a Licensed Practical Nurse or national certification as a Medical Assistant according to Aviva Health requirements.
- Ability to collaborate with Specialties Clinic Manager and Director and clinic providers to establish, define, and refine department goal and objectives consistent with Clinic’s Mission and demonstrates satisfactory progress towards these goals and objectives.

- Demonstrates initiative and problem-solving skills using sound judgment. Assumes additional responsibilities as needed, with little or no direction, shows initiative in assisting others within the departments including; Pediatrics, Rheumatology, and SBHC.
