We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Truck Maintenance Service Advisor to join our team. As a Service Advisor, you will be the primary point of contact for our customers, ensuring their trucks are maintained and repaired efficiently and effectively. The Maintenance Shop Service Advisor will lead day-to-day coordination of maintenance as well as customer interactions for an internal fleet of ~45 trucks and a growing customer base of external customers. You will work closely with our technicians and customers to schedule maintenance and repairs, provide estimates, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. This role will also support in the parts department. This role is based out of Camden, SC. Key activities:

Service Advisor:
  • Greet customers and determine their truck maintenance and repair needs
  • Provide accurate and detailed estimates for labor and parts
  • Schedule appointments and maintain an organized service schedule
  • Plan the department's workload and flow based on prioritization aimed at keeping maximum uptime (i.e., prioritize ‘quick wins’ during operating hours /days with longer term maintenance items prioritized on nights and/or weekends
  • Communicate with customers throughout the service process, keeping them informed of progress and any changes to the estimate or timeline
  • Coordinate with the parts department to ensure necessary parts are available
  • Review completed work with customers and explain any additional recommendations
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and resolve any customer complaints promptly

Parts:
  • Ensure parts are checked for availability and ordered / received in a timely manner as customer and internal vehicles are scheduled for service
  • Set low quantity limits for high use parts / consumables within the shop and ensure that parts are ordered when the lower limits are reached to ensure maintenance never stops due to lack of high use items
  • Perform monthly spot inventories and quarterly full inventories in conjunction with finance to ensure inventory count in CMMS is kept accurate at all times
  • Work in conjunction with Maintenance Director to determine proper level of inventory across both high and low use items
  • Ensure all parts are picked and delivered to Maintenance Director as work orders are opened before work begins
  • Regularly assess current and new parts vendors for better pricing on parts / consumables in coordination with Maintenance Director

Administrative:
  • Support and work closely with other areas of the organization communicating truck status through Slack / CMMS to ensure effective dissemination of information
    • Lead maintenance planning in daily maintenance KPI Pulse meeting
  • Lead daily service planning prioritizing production
  • Ensure Maintenance Management System (MMS) accurate and up to date throughout shift

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a service advisor in a heavy or medium-duty truck maintenance setting
  • Strong knowledge of heavy-duty truck systems and components
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with computer software and systems, previous experience with the FullBay CMMS system a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • ASE certification a plus

Compensation / Schedule:
  • Advisor Positions Pay Weekly
  • Hourly Pay: $25-$35 per hour
  • Overtime Pay: Time and a half per SC state law
  • End-of-year Bonus: Up to $2000.00 annually based on maintenance uptime and cost targets
    • Note: More regular bonus targets / incentive plans being developed currently for technicians and advisor roles
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday (shifts may vary between Mon-Fri and Tues-Sat per needs of the business)
  • Hours: Schedule will be aimed at ~50 hours per week
