Position Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing referrals made to outside facilities and coordinating with outside facilities to refer patients in a timely manner
  • Communicating with patients and outside facilities regarding referrals and follow up
  • Reviewing all insurance information submitted by patients to ensure that submission is made to the appropriate insurance carrier; submitting authorization requests to patient insurance carrier in a timely manner to ensure authorization for services
  • Reviewing patient medical records to assist with obtaining authorization and communicating with physician teams as necessary
  • Utilizing EMR to document patient calls, authorization information, referrals, etc.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, problem solving and organization skills
  • Detail oriented and able to prioritize multiple projects
  • Two years of related experience is preferred
