Service Writer

We are seeking a detail oriented and driven person to fulfill the role of Service Writer in our Tampa, FL location. The main responsibility of the Service Writer is to organize and assist the service manager with opening and closing of service orders through processes listed below.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Verify all checklists, condition reports and required paperwork are filed and stored in the appropriate databases
- Provide quotes for customer repairs and billable charges
- Ensure all billable charge service orders are processed and invoiced timely
- Ensure cut sheets, manuals, and other organizational information is entered and up-to-date in the appropriate databases
- Regularly update unit condition pictures in the appropriate databases
- Prepare any vendor warranty claims and log them appropriately
- Prepare internal warranty claims and log them appropriately
- Organize and prioritize all fleet vehicles, rigs and tractors using ELD software
- Ensure all annual DOT inspections are up-to-date and stores appropriately
- Review and organize all field failure reports to be reviewed by the service manager
- Work with the parts department on purchase orders to ensure all parts are received for the appropriate service order
- Assist the yard workforce as needed
Qualifications
- Associates degree in logistics, supply chain management, or combination of equivalent education and related experience
- Fork Lift certification or ability to obtain certification
- Experience in the construction industry preferred
- Knowledge of receiving and shipping practices and procedures
- Proficient in MS Office and other required software applications
- Experience in both general automotive and diesel auto parts
- Experience ordering and maintaining large quantities of auto parts
