As the Deposit Risk Team Lead, you will be responsible for motivating, inspiring, and training the team by creating an environment that promotes positive communication, encourages bonding of team members, and demonstrates flexibility. Work with Operations Officer to ensure that department processes are running efficiently, employees are cross trained, and teams meet organizational production and quality assurance goals.
What you'll do:
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert on the procedures, processes and policies related to
- Exception Item Processing
- Payment Risk Mitigation and Resolution
- ACH Dispute Handling and Processing
- Fraud Investigation
- Provide critical support & guidance to bank partners and clients related to investigative-related issues.
- Effectively addressing client, law enforcement, and bank requests via phone, email, and fax.
- Use critical thinking to analyze and resolve unique fraud cases in an appropriate and informed manner.
- Maintain fraudulent activity records and management reports.
- Develop both law enforcement and industry partner relationships.
- Ensures daily work is completed with the highest quality and timeliness with a focus on service.
- Release Wire Transfers.
- Assist in the back-office system testing and upgrades.
- Cross train on all Deposit Risk Team responsibilities to provide back-up when necessary.
- Backs up Operations Officer-IP, Fraud & Physical Security, Risk Review Analyst I and 2 positions as needed.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
What we’re looking for:
- Excellent service skills including attentiveness, information retention, sound decision making and critical thinking skills. Previous experience working with negotiable instruments.
- Knowledge and comprehension of bank policies, regulations, and operations
- Knowledge of backroom processes
- Excellent oral, written skills required with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of Bank management, Bank staff and clients.
- Working knowledge of computers and the Bank's core processing system.
- Computer literate with word processing and spreadsheet applications. Prefer experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- College degree preferred.
- 7 years’ experience working in financial crimes, fraud investigations, deposit operations.
