Prototype Fabricator

POSITION OVERVIEW: This role is responsible for fabrication of prototypes, prototype components and prototype fixtures. Other responsibilities include developing methods to form, produce, modify components to meet customer requirements as well as ongoing support during the process of transferring parts/processes from prototype to production.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- General fabrication of prototype assemblies and components.
- Production of small quantity runs of production components.
- Tack welding of prototype assemblies, some resistance spot welding.
- Prototype Fixture layout.
- Conceptualize and create prototype tools to form specialty components.
- On time production of prototype parts.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 Years of "Hands-On" fabrication experience in a manufacturing/prototyping environment desired.
- Experience with forming, sizing, bending tubes and/or rounds is preferred but not required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Creative, problem-solving mindset.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to complete tasks accurately in a fast-paced, customer focused environment.
- Understanding of general manufacturing processes and tooling.
- Ability to work from 3D drawings to create prototypes, components, and fixtures.
