Job DescriptionJob DescriptionIndependently owned and operated, The Jefferson Hotel in Washington D.C. is currently recruiting for a Concierge, an excellent employment opportunity for the truly exceptional candidate who possesses a natural flair for hospitality, a strong commitment to excellence, and an entrepreneurial bent.

The position of Concierge is primarily responsible for providing information to all guest inquiries and coordinates all guest requests by creating a meaningful itinerary for special arrangements or services in an efficient, professional and warm, gracious manner. The Concierge maintains complete knowledge of all hotel features, service attractions, amenities, locations and hours of operation, all hotel and competitor restaurant food concepts, local events, attractions and holiday schedules. The Concierge maintains positive guest relations at all times by resolving complaints and ensuring guest satisfaction by anticipating guest needs and acknowledging all guests ensuring the highest customer service is provided. On occasion, the Concierge may provide support to the front office and contact the appropriate individual or department to resolve a guest request or concern.

Specific position requirements include:

  • Previous hotel experience as a concierge.
  • Knowledge of other languages preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a positive and professional demeanor, both oral and written.
  • Interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to hotel standards.
  • Must be able to address stressful situations with clients with the utmost tact and politeness.

This position requires scheduling flexibility to include working nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
