Envision provides a variety of services to support individuals with developmental disabilities and has been a trusted resource for families for over 60 years. We serve more than 600 children and adults with a range of conditions and disabilities including: physical or cognitive disabilities, syndromes associated with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum, learning disabilities, and co-occurring mental health issues. We are currently seeking a Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS) in our Mental Health Program

Our Qualified Mental Health Specialists (QMHS) provide mental health interventions such as on-going assessment of needs and assistance in developing interpersonal, coping and daily living skills for children and adults with developmental disabilities and mental health diagnoses. They establishes a relationship with assigned clients to assist them in adapting to home, school and community environments as set forth in their treatment plan. They collaborate with the individuals’ team and their therapist, teacher, and/or other professionals.

A caseload will be around 12-14 individuals with a productivity expectation of around 20 hours of direct contact per week with the assigned clients. Services will typically be delivered in the home or community. Some evening hours are expected to accommodate work or school schedules of the clients.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s Degree in Psychology, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Occupational/Speech Therapy or a Related Field; or, High School diploma with at least 5 years of working with people with developmental disabilities and/or mental health needs.
  • One year (practicum and volunteer accepted) of experience providing direct intervention to children or adults with developmental disabilities.
  • A valid driver’s license with no more than 5 points on driving record
  • Insured, reliable vehicle for on the job use
  • Age requirements: 18
  • Employees must submit to a Criminal Records background check (BCII and/or FBI) prior to hire and repeated every 5 years, and must not have pled guilty to or been convicted of any offenses listed in Ohio Administrative Code 5101:2-5-09
