The Senior Buyer will be responsible for sourcing goods and services, negotiating prices and contracts, and managing supplier relationships to ensure optimal performance and value for the company. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure supply chain efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Buy durable and nondurable goods for use in and out of production 

  • Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services. 

  • Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives. 

  • Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in the correct amounts.

  • Monitor and maintain bar stock, ppe equipment, monthly checklists and more.

  • Process and assist with inventory management, including having equipment calibrated for use.

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to optimize procurement processes and achieve cost savings goals.

  • Identify and onboard new suppliers, evaluate their capabilities and negotiate contracts and terms that align with company objectives.

  • Manage supplier relationships, including conducting regular performance reviews, resolving issues, and ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.

  • Analyze market trends and supplier performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, and quality assurance to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.

  • Schedule and assist with yearly NYS DOL OSHA audit

  • Schedule and coordinate vendor visits, machinery installations and maintenance.

  • Assist and schedule on-site computer/technical issues.

  • Act as a back up to Receiving for incoming shipments and stocking of ToolBoss.

Education & Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chin Management or a related field preferred, but not required 

  • Proven experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to secure favorable terms and pricing.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.

  • Solid understanding of supply chain processes and logistics

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment

  • Experience with Microsoft Suite 

Work Environment:

Office setting

Manufacturing floor environments

Controlled temperature environments

Expected Hours of Work
This is a Full-Time Hourly position required to work Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as needed.

Travel:

Up to 10%
