Location: Austin, TX

Shift Type: Full-Time, Night Shift

  • Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Shifts per Week: 3 (36 hours scheduled)
  • Rotating Weekends

Salary: $27.09 to $37.92 per hour


Job Summary:

Join our dynamic respiratory team as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiopulmonary diseases. You will be instrumental in performing critical care and diagnostic procedures on patients of all ages. This role is suited for those who thrive in a fast-paced environment where critical care is paramount.


Responsibilities:


  • Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment.
  • Perform technical procedures related to cardiopulmonary hemodynamics.
  • Ensure competency in proper airway care and patient assessment.
  • Accurately interpret results and provide effective respiratory treatment alternatives.
  • Function as a respiratory care protocol assessor, delivering timely therapy and reassessments.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff to update and discuss patient care plans.


Job Qualifications:


  • Experience: Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
  • Education: Graduate of an AMA-accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Licenses/Certifications:
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the NBRC.
  • Current Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (for NICU staff).
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (for ICU staff).


Additional Information:


  • Department Volume: 75-125 patients per month.
  • Types of Services: Level 2 Trauma, Shock Trauma ICU, MICU, Oncology, NICU.
  • Culture: Positive, team-oriented.
  • FTEs: 16
  • RTs per Shift: 6
  • Reports to: Respiratory Manager
