In this role, plan, establish, implement, and maintain a variety of occupational health, safety, and environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees and assures that the company complies with applicable federal and state health, safety, and environmental laws, regulations, and standards by embracing current standards and embracing new technologies.


Here’s What You Will Do:

  • Conduct Job Safety Analysis on new or changing functions to ensure jobs may be performed while following all required safety procedures.
  • Continuously evaluate PPE ensuring employees have the best options to fit the needs of the job.
  • Drive daily employee engagement and involvement in safety programs, training, and committees.
  • Ensure annual compliance for OSHA required programs and reporting like onsite OSHA 300 logs.
  • Coordinate with QEH&S Manager on EHS programs and initiatives and participate in the Corporate Safety Committee governing best practices to instill a safe working environment throughout all business units of MVP.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve training for occupational health, safety, and environment.
  • Conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices, and provide advice and counsel concerning all city, state, and federal compliance regulations.
  • Recommend and assist in the preparation of comprehensive recommendations for corrective actions to minimize potential or existing hazards.
  • Review injury and property damage reports and compliance of worker’s compensation program.
  • Develop controls for hazards and coordinate the implementation of controls from results of hazard analysis.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the policies, and procedures with recommended changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate workplace accidents.
  • Conduct specialized safety and environmental training programs to communicate hazard control information.
  • Conduct new-hire occupational health, safety and environmental orientation.
  • Compile, analyze, interpret, and report accident, loss, and exposure statistical data.
  • Triage work-related injuries and illnesses to determine best course of action.
  • Maintain chemical inventory SDS.
  • Schedule, compliance, medical exams when warranted.
  • Establish, coordinate and conduct safety teams and meetings.


Requirements:


Here’s What You Need:

  • 2-4 years’ experience and training in a position at this level in a manufacturing environment, or a Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Sciences with equivalent work experience above.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Prefer 5 years of experience with the development and implementation of EHS programs.
  • Must have knowledge, training, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in the occupational health, safety, and environmental field, as well as with applicable federal and state regulations and standards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of delivering hands-on health, safety, and environmental training.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and coordinate comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs.
  • Workplace ergonomics background/training.
  • Familiar with lean manufacturing principles preferred.
  • Ability to lead by influence.
  • Experience with group and individual coaching.
  • Organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects and facilitate problem-solving.
  • Act as a technical and cultural change agent for environmental, health, and safety.
  • Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and move within the manufacturing facility.
  • Capable of wearing personal protective equipment as required.
  • Required to use hands to finger, grasp, handle or feel; climb; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; push or pull; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
