Now hiring for a STEM Program Manager at Baroody Camps

Job Summary:

Baroody Camps, Inc. provides before- and after-school enrichment programs and summer camps to school children in various counties throughout the DMV area. We provide opportunities to manage and teach programs. We are looking for individuals who are interested in managing and teaching elementary school children before- or after-school in cooking.

The Cooking Program Manager position is an administrative management position responsible for enrichment programs and camps throughout the year. This includes creating/designing curriculum, planning programs, preparing marketing materials, teaching programs, managing on-site programs daily and communicating with parents, school staff and Baroody Camps Management.

This role is between $20-$25 / hour with Instructor duties starting at $35/hour

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Most administrative duties will be completed on-site at schools, rec centers, or in an office
  • Creating and designing programs/curriculum for elementary school aged children
  • Ensuring Cooking Instructors are trained and fully prepared to successfully teach classes
  • Assisting in the planning and scheduling of classes and programs
  • Preparing content for marketing materials for programs (flyers, catalogs, email updates)
  • Monitoring enrollment numbers for all Cooking classes
  • Inventory and maintenance of program equipment and ingredients
  • Ordering, preparing, and coordinating distribution of equipment and ingredients for all Cooking instructors
  • Communicating with parents, school staff, instructors and Baroody Camps staff
  • Addressing concerns and issues as they arise - these include parent, school, and Instructor feedback
  • Maintain consistent communication with other departments (Science, STEM, and Sports)

Expectations:

  • 8 hours per day, 5 days per week; 6 hours of office and/or remote work), 2 hours as a Program Instructor per program (see separate job description)
  • Complete tasks and responsibilities in an efficient manner
  • Communicate directly with Chief Operating Officer, Assistant Director of Programs, & Owner

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must have at least one (1) year of experience with cooking
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States; must be 21 years or older with a college degree.
  • Must pass background checks conducted by Baroody Camps and school county regulations.
  • Attention to detail and high level of organization
  • Strong listening abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to different situations
  • Works well under pressure
  • Computer skills required - this includes proficiency in Google Suites
  • Must have own transportation

Training:

  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification, provided.
  • Medication Administration Training (MAT), provided.
  • In office training / On the job training
