Lender

Southwest Missouri Bank is looking for Lenders to join our team Our Lenders are responsible for developing new business, structuring, underwriting, pricing and documentation of loans, as well as maintaining and servicing an existing portfolio. This position will prepare and service consumer and real estate loans. Our Lenders are responsible for cross selling other applicable bank products and services as well as handle customer service inquires. Must be able to work Saturday rotation and 8:30 am - 5:30 pm Monday through Friday.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Supports and promotes the trust that SMB is truly customer driven, assisting to assure consistent and efficient customer service excellence.
• Originates loans in the branch by taking applications and interviewing prospective customers.
• Analyze appropriate credit information and make credit decisions in compliance with bank policy and within defined credit authority.
• Closes loans according to established guidelines.
• Works directly with loan collection area in efforts to collect on past due loans.
• Sells and cross sells bank products and services to personal and business customers, either directly or through referrals.
• Calls on potential or existing customers to develop new relationship business customers and increase or retain existing relationships.
• Represents the bank at various community events.
• Complies with laws and regulations governing the lending function.
• Analyze potential loan markets and develop referral networks to locate prospects for loans.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisor relating to the bank and its functions.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
• One to three years of sales experience.
• One to three years of prior experience in lending or related field preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to travel at times.
