 Lead Java Engineer (Onsite- O’Fallon, MO)

We are looking to hire a candidate with the skill sets mentioned and experience for one of our clients within the finance  industry. This position is a Onsite role.

Job Summary:

The Lead Java Engineer role is critical to support Technology needs. Requires a high-level understanding of systems, industry, and end-user requirements. This team leads with mission to provide overall stewardship of enterprise grade application architecture & design within the context of holistic software development. This includes driving the architecture & design decisions and building consensus around it. The team leads the exploration in software architecture & technology innovations along with enabling excellence in overall team.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute and own the baseline architecture implementations and design activities collaborating with other Engineers & Engineering Team.
  • Regularly communicate with management about risk analysis and design tradeoffs.
  • Work on Pre SDLC or Discovery activities owning and contributing to assigned activities related to technical feasibility & assessment, providing responses.
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to express and design ideas to a development team
  • Participate & contribute to Product kick off sessions & Requirement workshops for Direction and course correction w.r.t. domain-based solutions, technology feasibility, competence requirements, resources requirements
  • Provide guidance to teams on development standards, automation and tools
    Understanding of cloud eco system is must and have done hands on implementations on creating web applications for internal or external cloud.
  • Deep understanding of Software programing concepts specially in Java/JE

Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • BS in Computer Science with 10+ yrs. experience
  • Experience in object-oriented programming and concepts.
  • Experienced in Java backend application development.
  • Comfortable enough in handling algorithms, data structures, Data collections and system design problems
  • Expected to develop new APIs and host new end points.
  • Experienced in Distributed System development using Java/J2EE/Web Technologies.
  • Proven track record in delivering highly available, scalable systems on time.
  • Conversant in design patterns
  • Strong Experience with Microservices, Spring boot framework
  • Good understanding of web services and related standards like REST/JSON
  • Experience in Spring framework and other open-source frameworks.
  • Experience developing data-driven applications using an industry standard RDBMS (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, MySQL, Informatica, etc.)
  • Experience in Unix based development environment.
  • Experience in both development and quality assurance activities.
  • Experience in QA methodologies, test automation and automation frameworks.
  • Experience in driving Integration testing, UAT with external vendors.
  • Experience in JUnit, Selenium is a plus.
  • Experience working in payments or financial services industry is a plus.
  • Exposure to Agile Methodologies.
