A local Cedar Rapids Orthodontics office is looking to add a Clinical Assistant. You must have a heart for helping people and be *BOTH* smart and fast. Customer service is key, so we need a person that is both technically gifted and capable of communicating with clients in a friendly and helpful manner.

 

Responsible for assisting the orthodontist in the clinic, patient/parent communication and education, coordinating with the front office for scheduling and any communication/letters for referring doctors. As a member of our team, you need to bring energy, compassion and an amazing work ethic to the table.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

  • Patient Management
    • Engage with patients and parents in a professional and compassionate manner
    • Monitor patient flow
    • Chart all patients and record date, service rendered, and any charges
    • Patient oral hygiene instruction
    • Complete patient’s chart indicating procedure done today and what procedure is to be completed at the next visit
    • Learn and perform orthodontic clinical procedures as described in the Clinical Training manual
    • Perform other tasks as assigned by the dentist
  • Clinic Management
    • Oversee cleanliness and infection control of the clinic
    • Maintain and clean clinic equipment and instruments as needed
    • Assist in the clinic lab with diagnostic records
    • Assist in the trim room with pouring and separating models, cleaning and sterilizing trays, model storage
  • Office Management
    • Stocking and ordering of clinic supplies
    • Helping to put away clinic supplies and grocery orders
    • Clinic environment is maintained, stocked and cleaned daily
      • Clinic deep cleaning is routinely done on DL times and documentation is kept that includes the date and list of items addressed
    • Office equipment is maintained and cleaned properly, alert the doctors of any issues that may need their attention.
      • Trouble shoot and solve computer, software, printer and scanner related problems
      • Keep the toothbrush station cleaned and stocked
      • Help in other areas of the office when indicated (house keeping, cleaning, garbage disposal, reception area organized)
  • Office Marketing – Patient Rewards Hub
    • Introduce and interact with our patients and parents using our Patient’s Rewards Hub to encourage a positive patient experience and treatment result.  Award each patient points on the Hub at each visit and encourage participation in office contests, surveys and social media.

 

OFFICE PARTICIPATION:

  • Be an active participant in staff meetings
  • Promote team concept by positive interaction and communication with others in the office and at office functions           
  • Attend office sponsored activities outside of office hours as your personal schedule allows     

 

CLINICAL LEADS:

  • Oversee the daily flow of the clinic schedule
    • Scheduling staff for clip days 
    • Adding EM 2’s where needed – planned ahead for Holidays
    • Organize and initiate schedule template changes as needed
  • Communication in the clinic
    • Schedule changes
    • Staff changes and needs
    • General office communication
  • Organization of:
    • Clinical staff for all orthodontists and records rooms
    • Clinic cleaning and deep cleaning for each office
    • Maintenance of sterilization area and supplies
    • Clinical supplies stocked and ordered if needed
    • Report any equipment or office environment issues that need addressed to the doctors
  • Help to maintain a positive clinic and team culture
    • Communicate positively between clinic leads and teams
  • Communicate positively with the front office staff     
    • Patients and treatment needs
      • Scheduling
      • Financial presentations
    • Daily schedule updates as needed -staffing changes

 

WORK LOCATION:

  • Up to 4 locations in Cedar Rapids area

 

COMPENSATION AND HOURS

  • This Position is for 27 - 35 hours a week
    • 3 - 4 day work week set during Monday – Friday – no nights or weekends.
