A Little About the Job

As an Ortho Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive the best possible care. This includes:

  • Helping to keep patients safe by following proper infection control protocols
  • Educating patients using tools and technology
  • Assisting the dentist chairside

A Little About the Team

You will be working with passionate people with multiple levels of experience, including clinical and non-clinical staff. Although you will typically be assigned to work with a doctor, the goal is to communicate and work together as a team with all positions.

A Day in the Life

On any given day at First Choice Dental, you can expect to encounter the following:

  • Caring for a variety of patients with a mix of appointments
  • Anything from day-of emergencies due to pain, to routine dental procedures
  • A team, treating every patient like family
  • Seeing on average 5-8 patients a day
  • Assisting in all areas of the clinical space and throughout the office
  • Room setup/breakdown, four-handed dentistry, sterilization, properly stocking rooms, etc.
  • Contributing to supply and inventory management
  • Always looking ahead in the schedule and being prepared
  • Reviewing patient health histories, checking for lab cases and/or special supplies that may be needed
  • Educating patients via intra-oral pictures, x-rays, models, pamphlets, and demonstrations with handheld mirrors
  • Communicating with team members constantly and continuously throughout the day
  • A fun-paced environment that every day is never the same
