Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Manager to support a government customer in managing the design-build contract for the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at the Government Facility Headquarters. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day management of the project, ensuring seamless integration of charging infrastructure into customer’s existing facilities, while also supporting the operation of customer’s fleet of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). The role requires on-site presence at customer HQ, with hours determined in coordination with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management:
    • Serve as the Project Manager for the design-build contract to install EV charging stations.
    • Autonomously manage the day-to-day operations of the contract, ensuring all deliverables meet customer’s requirements.
    • Oversee the installation of a minimum of three (3) Level 2 and one (1) DC Fast charging stations.
    • Coordinate the installation of all required electrical, mechanical, and plumbing infrastructure to support the charging stations.
    • Ensure the deployment of a software solution for the networked operation of the charging stations.
  • Operations & Maintenance:
    • Initiate the operation of the charging stations and ensure they function as intended.
    • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule and manage repairs as needed to ensure long-term operational efficiency of the charging stations.
  • Technical Expertise & Quality Assurance:
    • Provide technical expertise to perform quality assurance on all aspects of the design and installation of the charging stations.
    • Evaluate and assess the integration of the charging stations into customer HQ’s existing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) infrastructure, ensuring system compatibility and optimal performance.
  • Compliance & Standards:
    • Ensure that all infrastructure and installation activities comply with federal regulations, safety standards, and customer requirements.
    • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and relevant stakeholders to maintain alignment with project timelines and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing MEP systems, particularly in the installation and integration of electric vehicle charging stations.
  • Strong understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) infrastructure and their interaction with advanced energy systems like EV charging networks.
  • Experience with managing design-build contracts and overseeing the quality assurance process for both design and installation phases.
  • Familiarity with software solutions for networked operation of EV charging stations and preventative maintenance practices.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage contractors, schedules, budgets, and project deliverables.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working with federal agencies or government facilities.
  • Knowledge of electric vehicle charging systems, energy management, and sustainable infrastructure projects.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday, Wednesday & Friday, on-site at customer Headquarters in Washington, DC. Specific hours to be determined with the COR.
