POSITION SUMMARY


The Master Production Planning Manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the planning and scheduling of production processes to ensure efficient and on-time delivery of products. This role will involve analyzing production data, forecasting customer demand, and collaborating with various departments to optimize production efficiency.



Job Duties and Responsibilities


Develop production plans and schedules, taking into consideration factors such as customer demand, production capacity, material availability, and lead times.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams including sales, supply chain, and manufacturing to align production plans with overall business objectives.

Monitor and update production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of products and communicate any potential delays or issues to relevant stakeholders.

Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and customer forecasts to accurately forecast future demand.

Determine optimal inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess stock and carrying costs.

Collaborate with Procurement, Sales, Operations, Logistics teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components required for production.

Monitor production processes and identify areas for improvement in terms of productivity, cost reduction, and quality assurance.

Utilize production planning software and tools to optimize production schedules and minimize downtime.

Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline production workflows and increase overall operational efficiency.

Foster strong communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Sales, Operations, Product Design, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment of production plans.

Coordinate with Procurement and vendors to resolve any issues related to material availability or quality concerns.

Provide regular production updates to management and stakeholders, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of production plans, schedules, and other relevant documentation.

Prepare timely reports and analyses of production metrics, such as capacity utilization, production efficiency, and on-time delivery performance.

Identify trends and insights from production data to support decision-making and drive continuous improvement efforts.



Job Specifications

Skills

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions

Proficiency in using production planning software and tools.

Strong communication and influencing skills.

Experience in the use of Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word

Possess strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, along with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.

Must be detail-oriented and well organized.


Education

Bachelors degree in business, operations management, or a related field.


Work Experience

5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively

Capable of listening intently.

Visual acuity to process paperwork and analyze data.

Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time.
