Position Overview

As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Promise Confections, you will be responsible for overseeing a highly capable finance and accounting team led by an experienced Financial Director/Controller. Reporting directly to the CEO and a part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will play a critical role in strategic financial planning, financial reporting, budgeting, cash and risk management, acquisition integration and financing for the enterprise.

 

A successful individual in this position will have hands-on experience working in finance and accounting roles within CPG and/or food manufacturing across multiple sites or accounting offices.  This position will be based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and require up to 33% domestic travel as the enterprise has three manufacturing facilities and an East Coast (Pittsburgh, PA) and West Coast (Kent, WA) accounting office to support the business.

 

Job Duties to include but not limited to:

Financial Management and Reporting

    • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
    • Cash flow forecasting, treasury, and cash management.
    • Monthly review and distribution of financial reporting packages to executives and board members.
    • Ensure compliance with all financial regulatory requirements and standards.
    • Implement best practices in financial management, including cost control and financial risk management.

 

ERP and Capital Planning

    • Manage the company’s ERP integration efforts
    • Oversee investment activities, including capital expenditures (CAPEX) projects.
    • Lead capital planning initiatives and manage relationships primary banking relationships.

 

Compliance

    • Ensure compliance with internal policies, financial regulations, and accounting standards.
    • Oversee interim, period, and annual reviews and audits.

 

Team Leadership and Development

    • Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
    • Develop talent within the organization through training, coaching, and performance management initiatives to build a strong financial team.

 

Strategic Planning and Analysis

    • Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and business planning.
    • Monitor key financial performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement across our manufacturing facilities.
    • Develop monthly reporting systems to analyze financial data and implications across core departments including, sales, business development, supply chain, and operations.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA, CPA, or advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with at least five years in a senior leadership role, preferably within the food manufacturing or related industry.

 

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in financial management, strategic planning, and driving financial performance. She/he will exhibit excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills in a collaborative environment. Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, strategic planning, and risk management is essential.
