Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Process/Project Engineer II executes new capital projects and troubleshoots existing Baton Rouge area facilities processes. The Process/Project Engineer II will ensure their assigned projects are completed on time and within the budget. These projects range from minor facility maintenance to leading $2.5MM capital improvement projects. This position reports to a Lead Process/Project Engineer. DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIESØ Solving process issues through data analysis, experimentation, and collaboration.Ø Support multiple concurrent projects by acting as the process engineer, project engineer, or both.Ø Troubleshoot DCS and PLC issues and create a control narrative for process changes.Ø Create and maintain project documents (scope of works, budgets, vendor documents, etc.).Ø Develop/refine the scope of work for new and existing projects.Ø Develop budget estimates for new projects.Ø Develop project schedules.Ø Develop equipment specifications and become knowledgeable on the equipment necessary for each project.Ø Manage project resources (employees, contractors, consultants, etc.) to keep the project on target.Ø Participate in PHA/HAZOP and other regulatory activities.Ø Participate in project commissioning activities and provide technical support to meet project goals.Ø Provide regular project updates.Ø Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTSv Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is required.v 5 -10 years of related experience in engineering design of chemical plants or working as an engineer in a chemical manufacturing environment.v 5+ years of experience working in an RMP and PSM environment.v Working knowledge of PHA, HAZOP, and MOCs.v A practical understanding of electro-mechanical systems, including pneumatics and automated control systems, would be ideal.v Intermediate understanding of piping and equipment codes and chemical safety standards.v Solid understanding of project management techniques. PMP preferred.v Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Projects and SAP preferred.v Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, including orientation to team development.v Ability to understand chemical manufacturing processes interpret and read blueprints, and technical documents.v Ability to work with multiple discipline projects. Technically competent and knowledgeable of electro-mechanical systems, including pneumatics, automated control systems, and Distributive Control Systems (DCS).v Detail-oriented with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.v Organized with the ability to support multiple concurrent projects.v Accountable, confident, bright, articulate, innovative, highly motivated, and self-starter with a high energy level that performs with the highest integrity. Hands-on, field-oriented, with initiative and decision-making skills.v Knowledge and understanding of industry codes, product safety standards, regulations, etc.v Comfortable with moderate travel (25%).
