We are seeking dedicated and proactive caregivers to provide comfort care for a late-stage ALS patient and companionship and meal prep for a senior with memory and mobility issues. The ideal candidates will be attentive, compassionate, and able to handle both personal care and household tasks.

Hours needed: 12pm-8.30pm/ 11.30am-8.30pm 7 days a week. Looking for a caregiver team of two to fulfill the need. Start Date July 12th, 2024.

Responsibilities:

For the ALS client:

  • Provide comfort care, ensuring all needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Be proactive in care, such as ensuring the call button is always within reach.
  • Communicate by writing down questions or statements.
  • Monitor the patient’s condition and report any changes or concerns promptly.

For the Senior:

  • Engage in the evenings, providing companionship.
  • Prepare and cook dinner.
  • Assist with light housekeeping tasks, including emptying the back litter box.
  • Ensure the senior’s safety and well-being during evening hours.

Qualifications:

  • Registered with the State as a Caregiver
  • Current TB Test (Within 1 year)
  • Prior experience in caregiving, especially with patients with ALS or similar conditions, is preferred.
  • Ability to be proactive and attentive to the needs of both the ALS patient and the senior.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to write clearly for the ALS patient.
  • Compassionate, patient, and reliable.
  • Ability to perform light housekeeping and cooking duties.
  • Flexibility to work 4 or 3 days a week as part of a team covering the full week.
