Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Project Manager with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the manufacturing industry, ideally in food manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing innovation projects, leading cross-functional teams, and actively engaging with customers to drive product development initiatives. A background in packaging is preferred, as this role will involve close collaboration with operations team on packaging solutions. You will report to the business development manager.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Engagement: Work closely with the business development manager and sales team to understanding the customer’s needs, preferences, and market trends. Actively communicate with customers to gather feedback, present product concepts, and gain insights into potential opportunities for innovation.
2. Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams through all stages of product development, from concept ideation to commercialization. Develop and execute project plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and budgets. Proactively identify and address challenges to keep projects on track.
3. R&D Collaboration: Work closely with R&D teams to drive product innovation and development. Provide input on product concepts, formulations, and packaging solutions. Collaborate with R&D scientists and engineers to translate ideas into actionable plans and tangible products.
4. Innovation Management: Drive innovation initiatives by identifying market opportunities, conducting market research, and staying abreast of industry trends. Leverage consumer insights and market data to inform product strategy and decision-making.
5. Packaging Expertise: Utilize expertise in packaging design, materials, and sustainability to optimize product packaging solutions. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop packaging concepts that enhance product appeal, functionality, and sustainability.
6. Stakeholder Communication: Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including R&D, marketing, operations, and sales teams. Communicate project updates, milestones, and key insights to ensure alignment and collaboration across departments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Business, (packaging) Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in product management or related roles within the food industry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with customers, internal teams, and external partners.
- Demonstrated project management experience, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive projects to successful completion.
- Background in packaging design, materials, or engineering preferred.
- Knowledge of food industry regulations, quality standards, and food safety principles.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in market research, data analysis, and financial analysis.
- Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and a customer-centric approach to product development.
