Job Description:

ANGARAI's Plumbing Inspector is responsible for inspecting plumbing installations in accordance with applicable building codes and regulations. This role involves conducting thorough examinations of plumbing systems to ensure they meet safety, quality, and compliance standards.

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

The roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct Inspections: Perform on-site inspections of plumbing installations in residential, commercial, and industrial properties to ensure compliance with relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Review Plans and Documents: Review plumbing plans and permit applications to ensure they meet regulatory requirements and are in compliance with local and national plumbing codes.
  • Provide Guidance and Advice: Offer guidance and advice to contractors, builders, and property owners regarding plumbing code requirements and best practices.
  • Issue Permits: Evaluate permit applications for plumbing projects, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided and requirements are met before issuing permits.
  • Document Findings: Maintain accurate records of inspection results, including any violations or non-compliance issues. Generate inspection reports and documentation for regulatory purposes.
  • Enforce Code Compliance: Enforce plumbing codes and regulations by issuing citations, stop-work orders, or other enforcement actions when violations are identified.
  • Attend Meetings: Participate in meetings with contractors, builders, and other stakeholders to discuss code interpretations, changes, and updates.
  • Keep Abreast of Code Changes: Stay up to date with changes in plumbing codes, regulations, and industry best practices. Attending training sessions or workshops as needed to maintain current knowledge.
  • Collaborate with Other Inspectors: Coordinate with other building inspectors, such as electrical and structural inspectors, to ensure overall compliance with building codes.

Minimum Qualification and skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional coursework or certifications in plumbing, construction, or related field.
  • A valid plumbing inspector license or certification issued by the relevant state or local authority.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing, construction, or related fields is preferred. Experience in plumbing inspections is a significant advantage.
  • Thorough understanding of local, state, and national plumbing codes and regulations. Familiarity with building construction practices and materials.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively conveying code requirements and inspection findings.
  • Ability to meticulously review plans, documents, and plumbing installations to identify compliance issues and discrepancies.
  • Capable of making on-the-spot decisions and providing solutions for code compliance issues.
  • Ability to interact professionally and courteously with contractors, builders, property owners, and other stakeholders.
