Job: CNC Applications Engineer / Multitask Turning


Responsibility:

Assist in the design and development of manufacturing processes to achieve customer's goals and expectations on test cuts, training programs, product development, trade shows and turnkey applications using state of the art CNC machining equipment and secondary operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare time studies and turnkey proposals
  • Assist in the integration of Engineering Services, such as machine tool and automation projects
  • Manage the research and design of fixtures and tooling
  • Supervise the modification of fixtures and tooling as required
  • Identify and purchase commercial items
  • Programming of CNC machines
  • Prepare machine for customer runoff
  • Travel to customer sites for support and turnkey runoffs
  • Keep abreast of technological information that will provide leading technology to our customers, suppliers and assist others to resolve problems
  • Lead development projects to enhance our products offered
  • Provide phone support to customers, both internal and external
  • Report to management on any progress, delays or issues and provide an action plan to resolve
  • Generate and maintain documentation for each area of responsibility listed above
  • All other duties as required to support the team and organization

Travel: Regional travel 50%


Qualifications:

  • General machining knowledge
  • Knowledge in math, geometry and trigonometry
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimension & Tolerance and Quality practices
  • Ability to use inspection tools such as indicators, micrometers, and CMM's
  • CAD/Solid Modeling competence in fixture/tooling concept design (Solidworks preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally within all levels of the organization and with customers
  • Ability to make quick decisions in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Ability to lead effectively and with little or no supervision

Education:

  • High School diploma required
  • College diploma in engineering discipline preferred

Working Relationships:


The Engineer will work closely with customers, application engineering, production, sales, and management.
