Goal: Keep all equipment fully serviced and in service, while emergency and reactive maintenance and repairs are booked in.
Description: As a mechanic you will service and keep running our sizeable fleet of light, medium and heavy weight pickup and dump trucks, lawnmowers and landscaping equipment, including our snowplows, and Salt Spreaders/Sanders.
Duties:
- Repair and maintain a motor fleet and equipment.
- Document work completed and order/inventory parts and equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and servicing company and power equipment to minimize breakdowns and keep equipment in top shape.
- Must demonstrate a solid mechanical ability to trouble shoot and make repairs or outsource repairs on vehicles, tools and equipment used in the green industry.
- Communicating with all personnel in regard to equipment health and repair schedules.
- Diagnostic troubleshooting and repair.
- Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
- Skid Steer and loader and heavy machine repair is a plus.
- During winter months must participate in every snow event and must be available for onsite repairs as needed.
- Perform other related duties as required or as directed.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: 5 plus years related work experience with general fleet and equipment maintenance a repair experience. Must possess a strong mechanical skill set including knowledge of basic electrical systems, hydraulic systems, mower technology and engines, both gasoline and diesel. Fabrication welding experience. Must have a valid Minnesota driver license. Knowledgeable of OSHA regulations.
Education: High school or equivalent
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift/carry materials up to 50lbs on a regular and consistent basis, move about the work site. Requires extended periods of activity including, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting, up to 100% of a workday. Time in the field may be equal to or more than 50% of time.
Working Environment: Employee is frequently exposed to exterior elements (i.e. pollen, chemicals, cold and heat etc.). Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
