SUMMARY: Quality Inspector will check the quality of all incoming and outgoing material and products as well as review production procedures. You will be a firm advocate of quality in our business. The ideal candidate will possess a trained eye for detail and will be reliable and committed. In depth knowledge and comprehension of quality standards and ability to read and use precision measuring tools is essential.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform measurements of Manufactured components to verify manufacturing specifications have been met
  • Work with Engineers to establish design tolerances
  • Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Final and in process inspection of components, and prototype parts using FARO Arm and various gauges such as micrometers, calipers, hardness testers, scales, surface finish gauge, and other precision equipment as required
  • Review drawing details for accurate documentation of specifications
  • Maintains calibration of gages
  • Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database.
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements, and calling for repairs.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
  • Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five (5) + years of experience working in a precision manufacturing environment operating measuring equipment
  • Ability to read blue prints and understand product specifications and requirements
  • Intimate knowledge of MS Office
  • ISO 9001
  • Ability to measure close tolerances
  • High school diploma
  • Experience with quality control techniques such as Six Sigma
  • Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic math skills

  • Hand/eye coordination
  • Blueprint reading
