Responsibilities and Duties
  • Diagnose and repair plumbing issues in residential and commercial properties
  • Install and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures
  • Follow safety procedures and regulations

  • Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used
  • Troubleshoot problems and provide efficient solutions

Requirements and Skills
Requirements:-Education:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program
-Licensing and Certification:
  • A valid plumbing license for the state or region where the work will be performed. Licensing requirements vary but generally involve passing an exam that tests knowledge of plumbing systems and codes.
  • Additional certifications (such as for handling gas lines or backflow prevention) will be taken into consideration but are not required
-Experience:
  • Previous experience in plumbing, including as an apprentice or journeyman plumber.
  • Hands-on experience with residential plumbing systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
Skills:-Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in using plumbing tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of plumbing systems, such as water supply, sanitation, and heating systems.
-Problem-Solving Skills:
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing problems effectively.
  • Creativity and resourcefulness in finding solutions to complex plumbing issues.
  • Physical Stamina and Dexterity:
  • Good physical condition, with the ability to handle lifting heavy equipment, working in confined spaces, and performing tasks that require good manual dexterity.
  • Attention to Detail:
  • Precision in measuring, cutting, and installing pipes and fittings to ensure leaks are prevented.
  • Thoroughness in inspections and adherence to building codes and safety regulations.
  • Customer Service Skills:
  • Professional and courteous demeanor, as plumbers often interact with homeowners and residents.
  • Strong communication skills to explain issues and solutions to clients clearly.
  • Time Management:
  • Ability to manage time efficiently to complete tasks within deadlines.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple jobs or projects simultaneously.
  • Safety Awareness:
  • Knowledge of safety practices and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.

  • Ability to work well with other tradespeople, apprentices, and contractors.
