Reporting to the regional Tool Shop Manager, The Sheet Metal Shop Associate is accountable for all support and tasks to provide jobsite and fabrication shop support. This role will work to stock our materials and tools for our jobsites, load and unload deliveries, prioritize safety and effectively communicate and coordinate with both shop and field associates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing shop fabrication for delivery including wrapping all duct work, gathering all applicable parts pertaining to the shipment
  • Efficiently maintain deliveries by coordinating daily with dispatcher and load trucks according to the fabrication release information and the shop delivery schedule
  • Unload and restock materials returned from job sites
  • Maintain an acceptable level of inventoried items
  • Receive and distribute all deliveries as needed, including postal, vendor, raw and welding materials while communicating with recipients as necessary
  • Maintain a safe working environment by prioritizing safety and reporting any accidents or injuries immediately.
  • Maintain the shop, parking lot, and exterior storage, including landscaping, snow shoveling, garbage changes, dumpster pickups and storing gas bottles properly to ensure environment is clean and organized

Experience & Competencies:

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License (with a clean driving record)
  • Must be accountable and ready to work.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours.
  • Strong communication skills; oral, written, and computer,
  • Must have integrity, enthusiasm, and willingness to represent the company in the most professional, positive manner.

The estimated compensation range for this role is $18-$20/hourly. This range is based on several factors, including individual education, qualifications, training, prior work experience, and work location.
