Job Description

Brightspeed is looking for a driven, aggressive and energetic Manager, Mid-Market Sales - SLED to join our team. The Mid-Market SLED Accounts cover small and medium-sized Local Government, K12, RHC, government funded entities, and Higher Education. The Mid-Market Sales Manager - SLED is responsible for delivering sales and revenue outcomes tied to quota-based targets. The account team is responsible for maintaining high activity standards, daily prospecting, pipeline growth, prospect qualification, adherence to the Brightspeed sales method and delivering assigned monthly sales revenue targets. This experienced SLED leader must have the proven ability to increase the productivity of account teams through skill development, adherence to activity standards, providing inspiration, rapid conflict resolution and building a highly empowered, constructive sales culture.

The Mid-Market Sales Manager-SLED will focus on driving new logo acquisition and incremental sales growth within our embedded base of customers. Leading a team of expert sales and retention account executives in the mid-market space, this role is a key component to the overall sales and churn prevention success strategy for Brightspeed’s Enterprise SLED Sales team.

As A Manager, Mid-Market Sales - SLED, Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Lead a SLED sales team responsible for qualify leads, identify decision makers, determine customer needs, explain product/service variations and overcome customer objections
  • Lead the RFP/ERATE/RHC strategy and execution with the sales and ecosystems teams.
  • Direct ownership of overall customer satisfaction leading continued customer tenure.
  • Coach representatives to qualify leads, identify decision makers, determine customer needs, explain product/service variations, overcome customer objections and close sales.
  • Exercises judgment with defined procedures and practices, and performance management to determine appropriate action.
  • Direct team with driving growth through new logo acquisition and upsell existing customer base.
  • Responsible for funnel management, productivity, forecasting, and revenue analysis for team level performance metrics.
  • Hires and performance manage sales team and completes required sales documentation.
  • Identify gaps in training and resources, make recommendations for improvements in process, systems and training.
  • Responsible for setting the overall action plan and for directing sales activities (including sales campaign development and management) consistent with business goals and objectives.
  • Acts as a point of escalation with appropriate peer organizations for effective and prompt trouble resolution.

 

Qualifications

What It Takes To Catch Our Eye:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience; master’s degree desired
  • 5+ years of directly relevant work experience, working at all levels within the client
  • 3+ years of people leadership and management experience
  • Experience in selling and managing sellers of complex telecommunications and technology, with a strong preference for experience in both
  • Proven record of integrated solutions sales success and leading transformations
  • Experience in leading sales teams to sell solutions and services to mid-size enterprises
  • Ability to achieve results in a complex, distributed organization
